Ep #345 - Follow Your Inner Authority - A Solo Show with your host, Susan Burrell
Wow! And so, another year begins. I could not wait to get out of 2025—it was a mishmash of so much: transformative, scary, exciting, happy, and sad.
I believe 2026 promises to be even more transformative. This year’s theme for Empowering Chats is “Follow Your Inner Authority.”
I am scaling back this year to two shows a month. I made this decision to create space in my schedule for writing my new book and for spending more time with my new granddaughter. There may be some months sprinkled with more than two podcasts, but generally, that is what you can expect from Empowering Chats in 2026.
And so, I begin by asking: What is Inner Authority?
I believe it is time for us to take our power back by no longer sourcing out our authority to outside of ourselves. For me, this means shifting inward—listening to our inner voice and trusting our divine wisdom.
Each of us has the ability to listen to the divine wisdom we came into this lifetime with. We all carry a divine spark within us.
We access this divine wisdom by practicing deep listening and tuning in to what our heart is saying. This may require pausing during your day and checking in with yourself. I call this tapping into your intuition—following your gut. When you tune into your intuition, deep listening begins to take shape.
It also means being present with what you are hearing. Ask yourself: Are you allowing the flow of life and the whispers of that divine wisdom to speak to you? Or are you resisting those whispers out of fear, shame, or something else?
For me personally, listening fully to myself has brought a greater awareness of who I am and the truth of my being.
I believe that by following our inner authority, we open the door to more happiness, more creativity, more harmony and deeper connection with one another—because it is all fueled by a higher frequency of light and love.
