Description

"Why, beautiful being, do you shun me? Surely my face is not one to repel you. The nymphs love me, and you yourself look not indifferent upon me. When I stretch forth my arms you do the same; and you smile upon me and answer my beckoning with the like. Stay, I entreat you! Let me at least gaze upon you, if I may not touch you."
- Narcissus to himself in Bulfinch's Mythology

In this episode, I talk about Narcissism Personality Disorder. NPD is named after the Greek God, Narcissus. These people are overwhelming exhausting, toxic, pretentious and great manipulators. They hide behind their charm and their fake empathy and compassion. We have some narcissistic characteristic within ourselves however, there is an absolute difference between self-love and self-love that causes you to drown when you're too occupied staring at yourself at the waters reflecting your fake sense of confidence.

"Narcissistic personality disorder — one of several types of personality disorders — is a mental condition in which people have an inflated sense of their own importance, a deep need for excessive attention and admiration, troubled relationships, and a lack of empathy for others. But behind this mask of extreme confidence lies a fragile self-esteem that's vulnerable to the slightest criticism."
