Description

In Baltimore, we sit down with Joyce J. Scott, a venerated visual and performing artist born and raised here. She talks about the state of art in her home town and she introduces her upcoming projects for the citywide exhibition and events known as Prospect New Orleans. For Prospect.2, Joyce presents conceptual beadwork and prints in galleries at Tulane University and Dillard University, and performs at Cafe Istanbul. Listen in to find out how the artist casts light on the history of race and voices her frustration at the chasm between men and women in the 21st century.
