In the Bible, "countenance" primarily means face or facial expression, but can also refer to a person's character, appearance, or demeanor. In Biblical culture, the face was a reflection of the inner person. A transformed inner self is to be reflected in one's conduct and demeanor. Most of the time when you first see or meet someone you can tell by their facial expressions what kind of day they are having or how things are going at work, home, etc. Our appearance can easily influence how people respond to us. Our outward appearance is always affected by what's going on on the inside - always. John 12:24 says - Unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it will not produce fruit. The fruit is given in Galatians 5:22 - love, joy, peace, etc. Verse 25 says - If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Remember Christians, never underestimate the value or power of Christ's light shining in and through your life!
