Description

Welcome to Inscape Quest with Trudi Howley and guest Jessica Dallow, an art historian and lifelong equestrian. They explore how horses appear in American art and culture, tracing connections between race, gender, elite sport, animal agency, and welfare through painting, photography, and sculpture.

Dallow combines personal experience and scholarship—discussing jockeys and cowboys of color, women in equestrian sport, the economic dimensions of horse culture, and new directions in animal studies and art historical research.
