Scott Dietzen took Pure Storage from its 16th hire to a 2015 IPO, studied under Geoffrey Hinton at Carnegie Mellon, and now runs an AI coding company. His prediction cuts against the panic: the world is going to hire more software engineers in the years ahead, not fewer.

He is now CEO of Augment Code, an AI coding assistant built for professional engineers working in large, complex codebases.
