This #THIRDTHURSDAY lecture focuses on post operative total knee arthroplasty patients. Learn about common concerns patients face in the early rehab period. Participants will be able to identify some early and late complications and when to refer back to the surgeon. Learn of about the early weeks of rehab after total knee arthroplasty, and early warning signs for infection. Examples will be given of treating early arthrofibrosis as well as late arthrofibrosis. The speaker discusses the diagnostic work up for a painful total knee replacement and highlight some of the common problems that can occur after a knee replacement.

Dr. Bradley John Zarling, MD, Adult Hip and Knee Reconstructive Surgeon is a Chicago suburb native. He completed his medical school at The Chicago Medical School where he met his wife. After medical school he completed his training in Orthopaedic Surgery at the Detroit Medical Center where he was exposed to a wide range of orthopaedic trauma, sports injuries and complex arthroplasty surgery. He then specialized in total joint replacement at the University of Chicago where he focused on minimally invasive techniques, robotic assisted surgery and managing complex revision surgeries. His research has been published and presented at national meetings. He has received recognition for his outstanding contributions in the field of joint replacement and healthcare quality improvement.
Dr. Zarling and his wife now have 3 children. They are excited to be back in the Chicago suburbs and share their medical expertise.
