To be audacious is to have a disregard of restraints commonly imposed by convention or prudence. Jazz music has expressed it's audacity since its roots in the 1800s. Jazz has had the unmitigated impudence to exist despite critics, naysayers, paradigm shifts, global conflicts, and has evolved and sustained throughout the ages.
