I'm 46 years old. I have brought hundreds if not thousands of petitions to Mary in my lifetime. I never know exactly how the prayers will be answered. Sometimes I get exactly what I asked, sometimes something different, sometimes more than what I asked. In 46 years, after bringing a prayer intention to Mary, I have never been disappointed.
