Description

Wrote this in 1992 in a notebook I would eventually lose. Was able to re-write it from memory. Not even sure why I ever liked it. Maybe it was meant to be this song. It is a banger.

You can find the original version of the song (poem) in the book, From the Confines of my Mind, Poems for the Ponder by Ronald Allen Bell~

Lyrics:

I put myself away
I wore a face and faked the day

I hear bent truths in the words you say
expressionless tunes I dreamt up then played

every key pressed I fell down into amphetamine dream

I found something I was not looking for
it took me hours to sift and sort

then there she was waiting for me in my amphetamine dream

she likes the way I look when alert
but my mind floats far from up her skirt
a feel of blissfully profound reflection
guides me wildly, time stopped and lost direction

I want to help her
I hear her pleads and screams
but I'm so far gone in my amphetamine dream
