(Verse 1 – whispered, almost lullaby-soft over minimal pulse)

Little white widow from the southern line

Slipped past the gates in a parcel so fine

Laced in the pills that your doctor once swore

Now the corner boys sell it right outside your door

One bump, one swallow, one beautiful lie

And the American dream just learned how to die (Chorus – the twisted nursery rhyme, slow and massive, every word echoing like a tombstone)

The itsy bitsy spider climbed up the water spout

Down came the fentanyl and washed the user out

Out came the sun but the light was black and cold

And the itsy bitsy spider crawled into another soul (Verse 2 – beat creeps heavier, distorted synth stabs)

Mommy in Ohio found her baby blue

Daddy in the Rust Belt never made it through

Kids at the rave chasing that perfect high

Didn’t know the spider was already inside

Street by street, city by city, the web is spun tight

One more statistic swallowed by the night (Pre-Chorus – everything drops to a single pulsing drone)

Hush little baby, don’t you make a sound

The man on the TV says it’s not coming down… (Chorus – louder, gang vocals like a cult chant)

The itsy bitsy spider climbed up the water spout

Down came the fentanyl and washed the user out

Out came the sun but the light was black and cold

And the itsy bitsy spider crawled into another soul (Bridge – half-time dirge, vocals layered with child-like ghostly choir)

Itsy bitsy poison, no one saw it creep

Silent little killer while the nation sleeps

Cartels keep weaving, politicians talk

Another thousand names just get erased from the chalk

Itsy bitsy… bitsy… bitsy… (Final Chorus – full apocalyptic swell, then sudden drop to almost nothing)

The itsy bitsy spider climbed up the water spout

Down came the fentanyl and washed America out

Out came the sun but the dawn will never rise

And the itsy bitsy spider… just smiles with a thousand eyes… (Outro – heartbeat bass slows… slows… stops. Only reverb and a single fading lullaby whisper)

Itsy… bitsy… fentanyl…

Climbed up the spout again…

Climbed up the spout… again…
