Description

This one was really fun to write. Hope you like it.

chewing on nicotine gum
while I beat on my pigskin drum
little ladies rubbing laundry on the rocks by the creek
kids playing with their chalk drawing blocks hopping free
grannie swings knitting things as she gazes at the show
grandpa smokes as he jokes bugs the youngsters as he goes
dogs run in the yard with a smile right in tow
wind is moving music grooving we're all going with the flow

A little birdie told me that it all will be alright
from where he flies he sees things in a very different light
Hard to see the madness when you're soaring up above
and I'll trade in all the tragic for a little bit of love

Perspectives are important for we do not always see
things for what they are even though we may be keen
put down your phone and take a look and you may be surprised
how the world looks much more peaceful when you see it with your eyes

Riding down the freeway with the window down a tad
in my first electric and I do not miss the gas
someone cut me off but I really do not mind
where are these people going driving crazy all the time

sucking on a cough drop
while I type with my fingers and thumbs
little particles of dust are blown by the fan as it speeds
stacks of papers articles and poems are scattered through the scene
prying eyes they stare at me they're not just figurines
I am worried that the time I've spent will not yield any green
looking at my phone but it never seems to ring
wonder if the people in it really are just but a dream

A little elder wise and true
stood upon the curb and spewed
wisdom in the face of hate
with animated facial traits
and with his practice jest so taught
got all that for what he once had fought

Perspectives are important for we do not always know
The way that things will be when they go the way they'll go
put down your swords and take a breath and you may just then see
how the world's arms are wide open if you'll only let it be
