• Acedia is defined as “a gloomy combination of weariness, sadness, and a lack of purposefulness. It robs a person of his capacity for joy and leaves him feeling empty, or void of meaning”. Have you ever felt like this? What led you to feel like this? How did you get out of it?

  • a native Greek slave girl who was in spiritual turmoil
  
  
  • a blue collar Roman jailer who was most likely very practical and indifferent to spiritual things
  
  
  
  

Who do you identify with most, and why?

• Philippians is full of verses that are worth memorizing - 1:6, 1:21, 2:5-8, 2:12, 3:7, 3:10, 3:13-14, 4:6-7, 4:8, 4:11, 4:13, 4:19. Choose one to memorize and increase your joy level!
