In this homily, I reflect on King Ahaz, a moment of fear, and a choice to trust worldly power instead of God. Even when God’s help is offered, Ahaz resists—yet God still gives the sign and keeps His promise. As we approach Christmas, this reminds us that God does not wait for our perfection; He enters our world anyway, staying faithful even when we struggle, resist, or run away.
