Words have meaning. Familiarity breeds contempt. Communion is one of those words. In 1 Corinthians 10:16 Paul uses the word 'koinanea' and it is translated communion, share, or participation. That normative 1st century understanding has a lot to teach us about what is really happening when we engage Christ in the sacrament of 'Communion'
