Description

Jesus destroyed him that had the power of death, the devil.

Hebrews 2:14-15  “Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise partook of the same things, that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil, 15 and deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery.”

Jesus redeemed us from the curse of the law, becoming the curse for us.

Galatians 3:10-14  “For as many as are of the works of the law are under a curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one who continueth not in all things that are written in the book of the law, to do them. 11 Now that no man is justified by the law before God, is evident: for, The righteous shall live by faith; 12 and the law is not of faith; but, He that doeth them shall live in them. 13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us; for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: 14 that upon the Gentiles might come the blessing of Abraham in Christ Jesus; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.”

Reading these two passages of scriptures alone would suggest that the believers should take a long look at the work of the cross and their Victory they already have in Jesus!  Jesus is victorious over death, hell, and the grave.  What applies to Jesus already applies to the believer as we are made one with Him in His death and raised with Him in His resurrection.  This is the absolute key to spiritual life, being made one – a sharer of what Jesus has already done!  This is what GRACE really is – the unearned favor of what Jesus has done applied to you and me and the results that Grace brings forth in the believers’ lives!

How do we get this unmerited favor?  We believe unto Him and gain access into this Grace through faith in Christ Jesus!  We access His work, not our own works.  His work is our GREAT SALVATION that is being revealed in this last time.  This last time is HIS TIME.  We have come to His Time, or His Day!  Glory to God!  What we see here is through Him, seeing His work as it is revealed in our hearts and minds by His Holy Spirit!  Glory to God!

NOW here in the Spirit there is no condemnation to the believers!!!  God has taken what He completed in Christ and brought it into the Spirit and He applies that to you and me through the Revealing of Jesus Christ within us!

Romans 8:1-9  “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death. 3 For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, 4 in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. 5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.

6 For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. 7 For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God's law; indeed, it cannot. 8 Those who are in the flesh cannot please God. 9 You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him.”

Think on this.  No condemnation to those in Christ Jesus.  Why then do we so often think we are condemned or not justified by God?  Why? Because we walk by the flesh or the carnal mind.  Romans 5 says death passed upon all men, speaking of when Adam ate of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.  Romans 8 says death is the carnal mind, or the mind of the flesh.  So, the carnal mind passed upon all mankind!

Jesus already condemned or judged our sin in the flesh.  He took our sins and brought them to death, the death of His cross.  Glory to God.  He then was raised for our justification, raised out from the dead in sin.  However, we do not see this most of the time.  We look toward our flesh or walk toward the flesh, and not toward the Spirit!  Paul said to the Galatia believers Do you think you can be perfected by the flesh, having begun in the Spirit?  What was he talking about in Galatians 3?  He was dealing with a people who had gone back to the law of Moses to find their perfection.  They were walking after the flesh, or the carnal mind, looking at the good and evil of themselves, and not toward the cross and perfection in Christ Jesus.

This is flesh walking.  It is not simply the bad but also the good that we find in ourselves.  Salvation is nothing of us, but of Christ.  We are made righteous in Him.  We are made holy in Him.  These descriptions of salvation are made real to us as we find our salvation in Him.  They will never be realized looking unto ourselves.  See this is the carnal mind, our selves, good and evil. The escape from it is the divine favor upon our heart, which is what we call Grace – The Work God did in Christ Jesus!  Walking toward this work is walking in the Spirit.  Glory to God!
