The team journeys to the anarchist world of Calypso where they encounter an old friend of Hound, Gert Ehrnie, a successful arms dealer. Gert informs the crew that their contact on Bamberg is a fraud but likes the idea of stocking some heavier weapons. She asks the crew to obtain the weapons from a supply train on the deeply loyalist world of Dionysus.
