Most of us were young parents in a world that felt, and can still feel, impossible.

There were multiple times Luis and I felt the weight of the world on our marriage and questioned if we could overcome it.
Life is hard; adjusting from the single, carefree life to being responsible for another life is no joke.

As you get older, there are constant obstacles and temptations; and learning from them takes time and hard work.

I am so happy that we can now sit back and look at those moments, and laugh about them. At the time, those moments never felt laughable-that’s for sure.

Understanding your partner and giving each other the time of day is key. Friendships can come and go, but marriage and parenthood is forever.
In the early stages of adjusting from one thing to another, you want to hold so tightly to those relationships that you lose sight of what you signed into as a couple.

Now at 31 years old with 3 kids, and 8 years together with my husband, I can say, “I wish I knew then what I know now!”
