Our heroes, sans Fletcher, board the "Gaer Ladui" with Stomonel Laughshield's crew and set sail with a westerly heading. Out at sea, they receive a message from Thornburrow via the special Bag of Holding, so Nautia ventures out into the surrounding waters to gather snails and coral. During their first night on the ocean, Kae has a mysterious dream.
