Laura Dern and Nicolas Cage had amazing chemistry both on and off screen for Wild at Heart, so David Lynch decided to use that lightning in a bottle to set the stage for a little avant-garde concert film he had planned with sadly recently departed Twin Peaks actress/musician Julee Cruise.
