141. Jumpstart June: Engaging Jesus in Your Relationships
Listen as Kim starts us off in Colossians 3:12-14 encouraging us to be compassionate, kind, humble, gentle, and patient. Are we all of these things? Today is a good day to check ourselves and shift our focus from how we are treated to how we treat others people. As believers, we are called to exhibit this list of things to others. Pam reminds us that some people make it easy for us to love as God loves, while others make it challenging.
Today is a good day to remember that God is asking us to be different from the world. We are not to be reactionary, but to learn to respond in a way that honors God. What should we do? We should pause and re-center ourselves and ask God to help us respond appropriately.
- because we are loved, we can love
- because we have received compassion and kindness, we can be that way
- because He demonstrated humility, we can be humble
- because He is gentle, we can be gentle
- because He is patient, we can be patient
We are created to be in relationship. Satan wants us to be isolated and alone, distracted from God and His goodness. We want to encourage you to seek out God-honoring relationships. Develop a circle of a few friends who love Jesus and start doing life together.
