Genesis 13:14 – 21:14. Abram decides he has waited long enough for God’s promises, and he takes matters into his own hands. But God has other ideas.
When God’s promise seemed impossible, Abraham and Sarah tried to “help” God—but their plan brought heartache and confusion into their family. In the end, God showed that His promises don’t need our help—He always keeps them in His time and in His way.
