Opening Bible verse: Matthew 2:14-15
When the Holy Family had to flee in the night into Egypt, I'm guessing the Blessed Mother didn't have the time or the ability to pack everything she wanted to bring. Ultimately, they heard what God wanted them to do and they did it. They did their part and trusted that He would provide for all the rest.
When I packed for our month long vacation in Europe, I was not so trusting. I way overpacked. As the month wore on, I began to feel just how heavy my backpack had become and how I fell into the trap I hear from so many of my declutter clients.
1. I love it!
2. I might need it!
3. I have the room, what's one more tiny thing?
These small concessions add up. Our stuff weighs us down physically, emotionally, spiritually and financially.
