In this episode, I speak with Dr. Tim Read, one of the directors of the Institute of Psychedelic Therapy in the UK and co-editor of the recently published Psychedelics and Psychotherapy. Tim discusses the history of psychedelic therapy, where it is heading, the usefulness of challenging experiences, training psychedelic therapists, and the public’s changing perceptions of psychedelic therapy. He also discusses how psychedelic therapy is helping to shift views on the nature of consciousness and how it can open the doors to synchronicities. Tim and I also discuss the ongoing Covid pandemic as an analogy of a challenging psychedelic experience.
