Description

Have you ever felt overwhelmed or paralysed by doom over our climate emergency? Does the more you learn about the impact our lifestyles have on climate, mean the more guilt you feel? Does speaking out about environmental issues feel impossible when you are less than perfect?

These are all topics I wanted to talk about with this week's guest Damian Hall. He has written 'We Can't Run Away From This' which examines the impact of running in our climate and ecological emergency

Damian Hall describes himself accidental activist and he is also a record-breaking ultrarunner who has represented Great Britain and competed in some of the world’s toughest races. Damian has also set records on the the Pennine Way, Paddy Buckley Round, the South West Coast Path, the Cape Wrath Trail, and Wainwright’s Coast to Coast. He is a UK Athletics running coach and journalist. His previous books include In It for the Long Run, A Year on the Run and the official National Trail guide to the Pennine Way.

This podcast was recorded just before he set out on the Montane Spine Race 2023, which he won.
