Description

In this episode of the Risen Fallen Podcast, I sit down with Sean Martin — singer, guitarist, songwriter, and the driving force behind The Quarantined — for a powerful conversation about music, purpose, struggle, and what it means to create something real in a world that rewards conformity. The Quarantined is a grunge/punk/metal project led by Sean, built around socially critical songwriting and themes like politics, trauma, addiction, war, and resilience.

Sean’s story goes way deeper than just the music. He’s a Musicians Institute alumnus, a longtime performer and songwriter, and a U.S. Army Airborne Infantry veteran who has become an advocate for veterans’ mental health and PTSD awareness. His work with The Quarantined reflects that lived experience, blending aggressive rock energy with deeply personal and socially conscious themes.

We also talk about the evolution of The Quarantined, from their earlier releases and live shows in Southern California to newer music like Aversion to Normalcy, the band’s 2025 EP recorded in Nashville at Blackbird Studios and Sound Emporium. The release was executive produced by Sean Martin and produced with Nathan Yarborough, with the band’s official bio describing it as a cathartic confrontation with trauma, resilience, and the illusion of “normal” in a fractured world.

The band’s momentum has been growing fast. Their official site says the recent singles tied to Aversion to Normalcy have surpassed 600,000–900,000 Spotify streams and generated more than 40 million TikTok views, while Apple Music lists Aversion to Normalcy as their latest release and highlights songs like “Nemesis (friend of mine),” “Trendsetter,” “Shadow (on my back),” “Skeleton Chair,” and “Unspoken.”

Sean also has press recognition connected to The Quarantined and related releases, with the band’s official site citing coverage from Rolling Stone UK, USA Today, and LA Weekly.

If you’re into rock podcasts, grunge revival, independent music, songwriting, mental health conversations, veteran stories, PTSD recovery, and authentic artist interviews, this is an episode you’ll want to hear.
