The beginning of the promises to the Israelites came when God promised a great nation to their forefather, Abraham (Genesis 15). Joshua found himself facing the fulfillment of those promised when he led the Israelites into the land they were to inhabit. But, that promise lives on today, now that the Spirit has been poured out on all who will accept the call.
