This season of Lent, leading us to Easter 2024, we'll be walking through a series called Wounded Words: Jesus Speaks from the Cross. The series highlights the seven last "words" (phrases) Jesus speaks while being crucified. Themes and quotes from the book Cross-Shattered Christ (by Stanley Hauerwas) will be sprinkled throughout. In this episode, we hear Jesus say, "It is finished." This is much more than the resignation of a weary and beaten crucified man about the unavoidable end of life. It's a declaration of all that has been fulfilled and accomplished through the life, and death, of Jesus.
