Description

During an annual show in a Nottinghamshire mining community in July 1980, hundreds of children began experiencing dizziness before they started collapsing. The official report attributing the cause to "mass hysteria". One officer described the situation as resembling a battlefield, littered with bodies. The events of that fateful Sunday afternoon at Hollinwell Showground in Kirkby-Ashfield have sparked various theories, from harmful pesticides to UFOs, but still remains a mystery to this very day.
