Description

Recorded live on Tuesdays at 8pm (UK time) on the Sports Therapy Association Facebook Page and also streamed live to YouTube, host Matt Phillips (creator of Runchatlive) brings guests from the Sports Therapy industry to answer YOUR questions and discuss topics chosen by YOU.

Ep.49 of the Sports Therapy Association Podcast asks the question 'How important is the choice of words we use when communicating with our clients/patients?' Some studies suggest that words can have a 'significant impact on clinical outcome', 'the ability to heal and harm', but as modern therapists are we being pressured too much to second guess everything we say? We've used words like 'knot', 'release', 'stabilise' and 'wear-and-tear' for years so why change now?

To answer these questions & more, host Matt Phillips is joined by Matt Scarsbrook (The Massage Collective), Rachel Frances Thomson (Director at Biomechanics Education) and Benjamin Mace-Crossley (STA Regional Rep: Chester, Wirral, Manchester). The panel raise some very interesting discussion, fuelled as always by questions and observations from therapists who joined us for the live recording. If you have any feedback for the points raised, be sure to leave them in the comments section!

Next week in Ep.50:
'Pelvic Health Special' with guest Gerard Greene.
