Fear keeps our eyes on imagined futures so we never obey God in the present. God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline — a fire meant to be stirred, not smothered. Because of Jesus, the Holy Spirit gives us courage to step out in faith when fear shows up.
