Trying to live a lower carb lifestyle?  One easy way to make a change is to use butter lettuce leaves in place of bread or a bun when eating a sandwich or burger.

If you have ever tried chicken lettuce wraps (lots of recipes online) you know how easy this substitution really is.  I love the butter lettuce leaf because it has great texture and easily folds around food.  Plus, the leaves are generally pretty large.

Note: if you eat at a fast food restaurant you can always ask for a burger with no bun and extra lettuce.  At In&Out Burger it's a real thing called "Protein Style."
