NEWS

00:10:28 Back in 2013, Hasbro released the Transformers Generations Thrilling 30 line, which included Orion Pax. What was not widely known was that many of these releases were designed with alternative heads – one of which was a Kup head for Orion Pax. Orion’s alternate mode already lent itself to Kup, and the alternate head – seen here via images released by Pete Sinclair, formerly of Fun Publications and Botcon

00:15:42 Much has been made of the fact that Takara Tomy will be releasing Power of the Primes figures essentially unchanged from their original Hasbro forms in Japan. Takara’s Legends line traditionally sees more collector-friendly and cartoon accurate paint jobs on figures, and collectors have been concerned that that may be at an end. It seems from a REALLY poor machine translation that some exclusives will continue, and that Takara Tomy Mall might be the future home of those exclusives.

00:38:03 Via Weibo we have new images of Zeta Toys ZA-03 Blitzkrieg (Masterpiece Scaled G1 Onslaught) Color Prototype.
The new images reveal which seems to be the possible final deco of this toy and several images of the alt mode. In a nice nod to the original G1 toy, the alt mode can also add a ramp to its configuration and carry other Zeta Toys figures like ZA-01 Take Off (Blast Off) and ZA-05 Racket (Swindle). You may consider the cannons too big for this mode.

00:43:57 Via Planet X on Facebook we have a look at the group’s upcoming figures, Morpheus, Phobetor and Phantasus. The trio are based on the Insecticons Sharpshot, Hardshell, and Kickback (in game names) from Fall of Cybertron. Kickback closely resembles the one released by Hasbro in approach – unsurprising given both draw from the same inspirations – while the other two Insecticons are new designs

00:47:34 3P company Mister Moon has shared more images of their upcoming Mister Moon Mini Master Series MM03 Grasshopper (Cliffjumper).
Grass Hopper is a mini transforming G1 Cliffjumper figure standing about 4 inches tall, ideal for a Legends-sized collection. We have renders and images of the prototype showing a very nice robot mode which includes a blaster cannon and pistol. The alt mode is kind of a mix between the original toy and the cartoon design.

00:49:16 We have some new images of Ocular Max Hellion (G1 Cliffjumper) Color Prototype.
This is Ocular Max take on a Masterpiece Scaled G1 Cliffjumper. The images reveal a well proportioned robot mode with a cartoon accurate head. The car shows an interesting balance between a real car and the “cartoon style” and brings us doors and complete seats and details of the interior of the car. To top it all, rubber tires are the small laser gun (seen in the cartoon) are part of the alt mode too.
