Description

Jon Du Pre is a 35 year veteran journalist who has fought the good fight for truth and justice in battlefields such as Salt Lake City, Phoenix and Boston. Jon covered presidential campaigns as a network news correspondent, spending six months imbedded with the late, great Senator John McCain in 2000. He has also reported on crime and punishment, the courts, consumer news, fraud and scams as well as science and technology. 


Through it all Jon’s storytelling has garnered him multiple Emmy Awards and other accolades. 


In 2000, Jon told the story of the family of his childhood. Jon’s first memoir, “The Prodigal Father - A True Story of Tragedy, Survival and Reconciliation in and American Family became an Amazon.com bestseller for ten weeks and won critical acclaim. It was also optioned by Disney for a feature film in 2001.


Jon ended his TV news care and now makes his living as a writer and video producer from his home office in South Jordan, Utah. 


The father of three and grandfather of three Jon joins us for a great conversation about his personal evolution and the changes we have seen in major news media over the years.
