The Hidden Life: A Study in Colossians Week 6

Sometimes we need a gut check on the why we're part of church. What's the point? In this week's text the apostle Paul uses comparison to help make this point. He compares shadow vs. substance. Reality vs. Pretend Religion. Divine Wisdom vs. Human Teaching. And what it boils down to is this: are we staying connected to Jesus? If the answer is no, our faith starts to completely miss the point.

About this series: Our society places high value on visibility, but there is a hidden life the attention economy can't compete with. It's a life that doesn't just have less noise, but more peace. A life that doesn't just have less confusion, but more truth. A life that doesn't have self-imposed purpose, but an eternal one. There is a hidden life only Jesus can offer. Or in the apostle Paul's words a life "hidden with Christ in God." To receive and embrace this life is to experience a peace and power and purpose that can never be taken away. In this sermon series in the book of Colossians we will explore what it means to experience life in Christ.
