It's no coincidence that the very first lesson Jesus taught His disciples during this final conversation was to love one another. Indeed, His whole life was about not only teaching but demonstrating this principle. What Jesus did to show what humility and self-sacrifice looked like was so shocking that even Peter was offended! But it's precisely the kind of love Jesus calls every disciples to imitate.
