Today's episode of The Write Team Daily returns to September 5, 1972, when the Munich Olympics became the scene of one of the darkest acts of terrorism in modern history. Eleven members of the Israeli Olympic team ultimately lost their lives after members of Black September attacked the Olympic Village, took nine hostages, and a disastrous rescue attempt ended in tragedy.
Then, revisit Sam Houston's election as the first president of the Republic of Texas, the arrival of the first gasoline pump, and the beginning of Jerry Lewis' national MDA Labor Day Telethon tradition.
Plus, discover how the first touchdown pass in football history helped revolutionize the sport, celebrate actor Michael Keaton, remember the remarkable life and service of Mother Teresa, and continue our “6:7” devotional journey with Joshua 6:7 and a reminder to move forward in faith even when the walls in front of us seem impossible.
