The idea of duplicity in people is spoken of throughout the Bible and is always condemned. Jesus spoke of hypocrites at least 23 times in the Gospels. We are talking about people having two different personalities, changing into another person and acting completely different, moods, fits of anger, fits of melancholy and depression. Singleness of heart, simplicity, and sincerity are always spoken of as right in the sight of God, and the only way to have stability in life. The word "double-minded" actually means, "two-spirited," or vacillating. Doublemindedness is a spiritual issue, and the only cure is the new birth. Ephesians 2:15 "Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;"
