Description

Paul's message in the Pisidian Antioch synagogue caused quite a stir. The aftermath of the sermon is almost as important as the sermon itself, as it reveals some key things about the second half of the book of Acts. We'll look at those things in detail. But above all, I want you to see that this passage too is about the reign of Christ in Asia. The word of God, the proclamation of the gospel, does two things: It divides, and it conquers. Both of those take place in the aftermath of Paul's sermon. And so as you see God's word divide and conquer, notice Luke's final word: the new believers walked in joy. And joy is going to beat persecution every time. Yes, the word divides and conquers — and those it conquers walk in the joy that will continue to conquer Christ's enemies.
