Being able to predict success is something we all try to do. The reality is that we are often unable to do this in the physical world. But the author of Hebrews could be very sure and certain of "better things" in the spiritual sense. Since God cannot lie and He is the ultimate authority, we can depend on His promises. We can hope and have certainty in things that we don't see yet. This hope is an anchor for our soul and keeps us connected to the Lord. Christ died and rose from the dead so that we can have certainty and have something to cling to in the turmoils of life. When we remain connected with Him, we enjoy the certainty and assurance of "better things" with God in heaven.
