Erinome: Hello everyone! Welcome to our podcast. Today, Enceladus and I are going to chat about a super cool winter event – the 27th Harbin Ice and Snow World just opened! Enceladus, did you hear the news?

Enceladus: Oh! Harbin Ice and Snow World? I’ve seen pictures before, it’s like a magical ice kingdom. When did it open exactly?

Erinome: It opened on December 17th, 2025, at 10 AM. And guess what? This year’s is the BIGGEST one ever!

Enceladus: No way! Biggest ever? How big are we talking?

Erinome: The park is 1.2 million square meters – that’s like 168 football fields! And they used over 400,000 cubic meters of ice and snow. That’s a mountain of ice and snow, right?

Enceladus: Oh my goodness, that’s insane! What’s the theme this year? I bet it’s something fun.

Erinome: The theme is “Ice and Snow, Fairy Tale World”. So everything there looks like a storybook come to life. How cute is that?

Enceladus: A fairy tale world! I love that. Is there a main attraction, like a big ice sculpture?

Erinome: Yes! The main tower is called “Ice Lantern Dream”. It’s made of 39,000 cubic meters of ice – that’s like 16 Olympic swimming pools of ice!

Enceladus: 39,000 cubic meters? Wow! What does it look like?

Erinome: The shape is like a “mountain” held up by snowflakes. And here’s the smart part – it’s not just pretty. It shows the idea that “ice and snow are also gold and silver mountains” – meaning winter tourism helps the economy grow. Cool, huh?

Enceladus: Oh, that’s a nice message! Are there other ice sculptures besides the tower?

Erinome: So many! They have ice versions of famous Chinese buildings, like the Yellow Crane Tower (Huanghelou) and Dai Temple (Daimiao) from Shandong. And even a Belgian fairy tale castle – to celebrate friendship between China and Belgium.

Enceladus: Mixing different cultures? That’s awesome. I want to see the castle! What about fun rides? I remember last year there were slides…

Erinome: Oh yes! The super ice slide is back, but better. It has 24 tracks, and the longest one is 521 meters. Can you imagine sliding 521 meters on ice? That’s like sliding from one end of a big park to the other!

Enceladus: 521 meters? That’s going to be so fast! I’d probably scream the whole time, haha. Any other rides?

Erinome: There’s a snow Ferris wheel too – 120 meters high! That’s like 40 floors tall. You can see the whole fairy tale world from up there. Sunset views must be amazing.

Enceladus: I need to take photos from there! Do they have any new tech stuff this year?

Erinome: Yes! They added AI interactive devices – so you can play games with the ice sculptures. And smart lights that change colors. At night, the whole park will glow like magic.

Enceladus: Ooh, night time must be beautiful. But wait, it’s super cold in Harbin. Where do you warm up?

Erinome: They built a 5,000 square meter 气膜馆 (qimoguan) – it’s like a big, warm tent. You can rest there, eat hot food, and get warm. Perfect for when your hands are freezing!

Enceladus: Thank goodness for that! I hate being cold. How much are the tickets? Is it expensive?

Erinome: Good news! From December 17th to 23rd, adult tickets are 298 yuan – that’s a special price. After December 24th, it goes up to 328 yuan. So better buy early to save money!

Enceladus: 298 yuan is a good deal. Where can people buy tickets? I don’t have Chinese apps…

Erinome: They can buy on the official WeChat account, or platforms like Ctrip (Xiecheng), Douyin, Meituan, Alipay. Lots of options, so easy to book.

Enceladus: Nice. Any special events besides just looking around? Concerts?

Erinome: Yes! They’re having a New Year’s Eve concert – “A Journey Like a Song”. Big stars will sing, there will be drone shows, and even fireworks in the sky. It’s going to be so lively!

Enceladus: I want to go for New Year’s Eve! That sounds epic. Any tips for visitors? Like what to wear?

Erinome: The news says “wear warm clothes!” Harbin is super cold in winter – hats, gloves, thick coats, maybe even heated socks. And plan your trip well, so you don’t miss the best parts.

Enceladus: Right, 保暖 (baonuan) – keep warm! I’ll remember that. So, to sum up: biggest ever, fairy tale theme, cool rides, tech stuff, warm tents, cheap tickets early… I need to go!

Erinome: Me too! It sounds like the perfect winter adventure. I hope lots of people get to experience this ice fairy tale.

Enceladus: Okay, that’s all for today. Thanks for telling me all about it, Erinome!

Erinome: You’re welcome! Thanks for listening, everyone. Let’s talk again next time. Bye!

Enceladus: Bye!
