Erinome: Hello dear friends! Welcome to "Daily News Bites"! I'm Erinome, and here with me is my co-host Enceladus. How's your day going, Enceladus?

Enceladus: Oh, pretty good! Ready to chat about today's news. Let's start, you know that?

Erinome: First up, UBS released their 2025 Wealth Report. It says Mainland China has 70 new billionaires—people with over $1 billion! Now the total is 470, only second to the US. Wow, that's a big number!

Enceladus: 470 billionaires? That's so many! Rich people keep growing, huh?

Erinome: Right! Next, stock market news: Shanghai, Shenzhen and Beijing Stock Exchanges announced they'll have a 10-day break for the 2026 Spring Festival. They open on the 8th day of the first lunar month. Long holiday for traders!

Enceladus: 10 days? Oh, investors need to plan their trips early then, haha.

Erinome: Yep! Now, the Central Bank has a new policy: one-time credit repair. It doesn't matter which bank or loan type—they'll help people who had small overdue payments but always paid honestly to rebuild their credit. That's helpful, right?

Enceladus: Totally! Like, if you forgot to pay a little once but are usually good, now you can fix your credit. Nice.

Erinome: Big gold news! Jilin found a large gold mine—expected to have over 100 tons of gold. And spot gold? First time above $4400 per ounce! It's up over 67% this year. That's a huge jump!

Enceladus: 67% up? Oh no, gold is so expensive now! And 100 tons in Jilin—amazing!

Erinome: Speaking of surprises, Hunan Agricultural University did a study: eating the right amount of lard every day can control weight and reduce long-term inflammation. They published it in npj - Food Science. So lard is good now?

Enceladus: Really? I thought lard was bad before! So "proper amount" is key, not too much. My grandma might say "I told you so"!

Erinome: Haha! Next, China plans to make a special law for childcare services. To help develop and standardize it, and lower family raising costs. Good for young parents!

Enceladus: Yeah! Childcare is expensive, so this law might make it easier for families.

Erinome: Important law alert! The new Public Security Administration Punishment Law starts Jan 1 next year. Sending indecent photos or videos to friends is illegal now. The worst? 15 days in detention and 5000 yuan fine. Oh, we need to be careful with messages!

Enceladus: Even to friends? So no more silly photos! Got it, must remember that.

Erinome: Hong Kong had a crazy robbery: 100 million yen stolen! 15 people arrested, some with gang backgrounds. And the robbery? Only 30 seconds! So fast.

Enceladus: 30 seconds? Like a movie scene! But they got caught, good. The money is still being looked for, though.

Erinome: Travel trouble: 46 China-Japan flights will cancel all their flights in the next two weeks. And in January, 2195 Japan-bound flights have been canceled. That's a lot!

Enceladus: Oh no, people going to Japan must be upset. Hope they can rebook soon.

Erinome: Space news: Japan's H3 rocket launch failed. The satellite didn't get into the planned orbit. And it was delayed twice before because of technical problems. Third time unlucky, huh?

Enceladus: Space is hard! Maybe next time they'll fix it.

Erinome: Last one: Korean media says top leaders of 4 big Korean companies plan to visit China in early January with an economic group. And Lee Jae-myung spent 30 billion won to move back to Blue House—starts working end of this month.

Enceladus: Economic group to China—maybe more business between Korea and China. And moving back to Blue House? 30 billion won is not cheap!

Erinome: Alright, that's all for today! From billionaires to lard, canceled flights to failed rockets—so much to talk about.

Enceladus: Yep! Hope you liked today's news. Let's talk again next time. Bye everyone!
