Erinome: Hello dear friends! Welcome to our daily news talk. I'm Erinome.

Enceladus: And I'm Enceladus! Let's check out today's hot news, shall we?

Erinome: First, on the second day of New Year's Day, many places saw a big increase in visitors compared to last year. Some scenic spots even had to limit the number of people. Oh, and taking a bath became a popular thing to spend money on in Northeast China!

Enceladus: Wow, so many people traveling! Scenic spots limiting visitors makes sense, right? Taking a bath? That sounds really nice in winter, especially in the cold northeast!

Erinome: Next, Mount Emei announced some news. All the temples on the mountain will be free forever—no need to pay for temple tickets. But you still have to pay for the mountain entrance ticket and cable cars, you know that?

Enceladus: Really? That's good for people who want to visit the temples! But the entrance and cable cars still cost money. Well, at least the temples are free now.

Erinome: The Central Meteorological Observatory says there will be a lot of cold air in the next ten days. And the eastern part of Southwest China will have a lot of cloudy, rainy, or snowy weather.

Enceladus: Brrr, cold air again! People there need to wear warm clothes, right? Rain and snow... Be careful when going out!

Erinome: Let's talk about baby names! In Sichuan, the most popular names for newborns in 2025 are Yutong and Jincheng. The old popular names like Zihan are not as popular anymore.

Enceladus: Yutong and Jincheng? They sound pretty! Bye bye Zihan! Haha, times change, even baby names!

Erinome: Good news for some families—long-acting growth hormone is in the medical insurance for the first time. For kids who are short, the yearly treatment cost can go down by up to 75%!

Enceladus: Wow, that's a big help! Families won't have to pay so much now. That's really great news!

Erinome: The top ten "national treasures" from central enterprises in 2025 were announced. Tianwen-2 probe, Fujian warship, and smart walking exoskeleton are on the list!

Enceladus: Cool! These are all big achievements, right? Tianwen-2 goes to space, Fujian ship is so big... China is getting stronger in technology!

Erinome: BYD sold 2.25 million pure electric cars in 2025. That's more than Tesla, so BYD is now the world's number one!

Enceladus: Oh! BYD is the first in the world? That's amazing! Chinese cars are doing so well now!

Erinome: Hong Kong's IPO market raised over 285.8 billion Hong Kong dollars in 2025. It's back to being the top in the world!

Enceladus: Hong Kong is leading again! That must be good for their economy. Nice job!

Erinome: US company Starlink said they will lower the orbit of about 4,400 satellites. Before, China said Starlink satellites came too close twice, so the Chinese space station had to move to avoid danger.

Enceladus: Lower orbit? Hope it's safer now. The space station had to move before? That sounds scary. Be careful up there!

Erinome: Sad news from Switzerland—a bar fire killed 40 people and hurt 119. Most of the dead are teenagers. It's thought to be an accident, and Switzerland will have five days of national mourning.

Enceladus: Oh no! That's so sad. Teenagers... Their parents must be heartbroken. Five days of mourning... Everyone in Switzerland must feel really bad.

Erinome: US media says Trump talked about taking too much medicine. He said the bruise on his hand was from taking too much aspirin, but he still says he's very healthy.

Enceladus: Taking too much aspirin? That's not good for health. But he says he's healthy? Um, okay...

Erinome: In the US, about 13.1 million guns were sold in 2025. Over 14,600 people died from gun violence, and about 26,100 were hurt.

Enceladus: Oh no, that's too many! So many guns and so many people dead or hurt... Gun violence is such a big problem there.

Erinome: Last one—over 41,000 people crossed the English Channel to偷渡 to the UK in 2025. That's the second highest number ever. The UK Home Office said it's "shameful".

Enceladus: 41,000 people? That's a lot. The government thinks it's shameful... Must be really hard to handle.

Erinome: Okay, that's all the news for today. Thanks for listening!

Enceladus: Yeah, see you next time! Bye!
