Erinome: Hello everyone! Welcome to "Daily News Bites"! I'm Erinome.

Enceladus: And I'm Enceladus. Let's start with today's news, shall we? First, some great tech news from China!

Erinome: Right! China's smart weather forecast technology has made a big breakthrough. Now, we can get early warnings for strong convective weather 4 hours earlier than before. Wow, that's really helpful, right?

Enceladus: Oh yeah! 4 hours is a long time to prepare for sudden bad weather. That must save a lot of trouble!

Erinome: Next, good news for railways. China Railway Group said that in 2025, national railway transport revenue was 1020.4 billion yuan. That's a 3.1% increase from last year, and it's the first time breaking 1 trillion yuan!

Enceladus: Oh, 1 trillion yuan! That's a huge number. Our railways are getting busier and better, haha.

Erinome: Moving to school news. The national student status information management system has been upgraded and launched. Now, transferring schools between provinces is about 40% faster. No more long waiting times for students moving to other provinces!

Enceladus: That's great for families who move often. Students won't miss too much school because of transfer problems now.

Erinome: Here's news for sports lovers, especially in Zhejiang. Zhejiang will add football to the PE exam options for middle school students. And each school year, football class hours must be at least one-third of total PE class hours.

Enceladus: Football in exams? Haha, maybe more kids will start playing football now. It's fun and good exercise!

Erinome: Now, news for parents. The National Health Commission said 2026 childcare subsidies are open for application. And there's a new "one-click renewal" function. That should make it easier for parents, right?

Enceladus: Oh yes! Parents are always busy. One-click renewal will save them so much time. No more complicated forms, I hope!

Erinome: Next, a sad story from Jiangsu. A newborn baby's finger was cut when the midwife was cutting the umbilical cord. Local officials said the midwife made a serious mistake and has been suspended.

Enceladus: Oh no, that's so sad! Poor baby. I hope the baby is okay now. Hospitals need to be more careful with such important jobs.

Erinome: Let's talk about something many parents worry about—kids and online games. China Consumers Association said minors often secretly use parents' phones to recharge online games. Recently, the average money in these complaints is over 2500 yuan.

Enceladus: Um, that's a problem. Parents should maybe set better passwords or check their phones more, you know? And game companies should do more to stop this too.

Erinome: Here's a strange news. A mineral water's label is said to use a pattern very similar to the 20-yuan RMB. The official response? They need to study more to see if it's against the rules.

Enceladus: Oh, really? That's interesting. Let's wait and see what they decide.

Erinome: Some financial news now. Goldman Sachs released a report suggesting people buy more Chinese stocks. They predict China's stock market will go up 15% to 20% each year in 2026 and 2027.

Enceladus: Wow, that's a positive prediction! Let's hope it comes true for investors, haha.

Erinome: Last news for today, and it's a bit worrying. Japanese media said syphilis infections there keep spreading. The number of cases has been over 13,000 for 4 years in a row. About two-thirds are men, and most female patients are in their 20s.

Enceladus: That's not good. People should really pay more attention to health and safety, right?

Erinome: Yeah, health is always the most important. Okay, that's all for today's news.

Enceladus: Thanks for listening! Let's talk again next time. Bye everyone!

Erinome: Bye!
