Amie, known as @amieinchina on TikTok, shared her choice to travel thousands of miles for medical care simply because facing the UK waiting list felt harder than crossing an ocean.
近日，一位名为@amieinchina的TikTok博主艾米分享了自己不远万里来中国求医的经历，只因她觉得在英国排队看病比跨越大洋更困难。
Amie explains in the video, which has already racked up an incredible 412.2k views since being shared on 20 November, how she has been unwell for some time.

Then adds how it would take her at least two weeks just to secure a preliminary appointment with her local GP.
她补充说，而光是跟当地全科医生挂个号，就要等上至少两周。
“In that time in two weeks, I could have spoken to a specialist, had loads of tests including the camera down the throat, everything, got all my results and been put on a treatment plan in that time in China,” she says.
“同样两周时间，在中国我早就能看上专家门诊、做完包括胃肠镜在内的一系列检查、拿到全部报告并开始接受治疗了。”她说道。
Having secured her visa, Amie is flying to Beijing next week to access the specialist care she needs, finding the journey easier than fighting the system at home.
如今签证已顺利办妥，艾米将于下周飞往北京接受专业诊疗。对她来说，这段跨越洲际的求医路，竟比在本国医疗系统中挣扎更为轻松。
Amie is quick to stress that her decision isn’t about throwing shade at the hard-working NHS staff – she notes her own mother worked for the service for 20 years.
艾米很快强调，这一决定不是要内涵英国国民医疗体系中辛勤工作的医护人员，她提到自己的母亲就曾就职其中，工作了二十年。
Instead, her frustration is with a system that feels impossible to navigate when you’re genuinely unwell.
真正令她感到无力的，是当一个人真正生病时，却陷入寸步难行的制度困境。
