For this particular eight-episode series, I chose the theme of space exploration, with a specific focus on the history of human space flight, from the early days of Yuri Gagarin and the Apollo missions to the birth of US commercial space and the rise of SpaceX.
Five books have illuminated this topic for me and have thus formed the backbone of this series. To start, I have to say, content-wise, most credit goes to these authors and their brilliant creations. They are One Giant Leap by Charles Fishman, Beyond - The Astonishing Story of the First Human to Leave Our Planet and Journey into Space by Stephen Walker, A Man on the Moon by Andrew Chaikin, Escaping Gravity - My Quest to Transform NASA and Launch A New Space Age by Lori Garver, and Liftoff - Elon Musk and the Desperate Early Days that Launched SpaceX by Eric Berger.
Picking, mixing, condensing, synthesizing, hopefully not breaking, and ultimately presenting these brilliant works became my major tasks. Essentially, I’m retelling the stories that they meticulously researched and penned. This may sound easy. But to a rookie, it couldn’t be more energy-consuming. I encourage you to read the books if this interests you.
Welcome to Curiosity Curated, my experimental podcast project, where I share intriguing stories from my reading. I’m an avid reader and enjoy reading. I started this personal project to explore a new aspect of this hobby by sharing it. The project itself and the content I aim to share are curiosity-driven and, in some sense, open-ended.
So bear with me as I embark on this journey. Please feel free to reach out with any feedback on how I can improve. Thanks for your patience and listening.
