Description

Welcome to another edition of Maplewood Barn Radio Theatre. In this episode, we bring you our adaptation of a little-known play by Charles S. Brooks: a pirate spoof called Wappin' Wharf. Brooks gave up a successful career in business at the age of 37 to become a writer. He was motivated by "an appreciate of the subtlety of words, of their cadence, and overtone." Wappin' Wharf was first produced as a full-length production in January 1922, at the Play House in Cleveland, Ohio, under the direction of Frederic McConnell. We hope you enjoy our adaptation.
