• The WSJ revealed Rebekah Mercer is an investor in Parler, the fast-growing consverative social media app. Who are the Mercers? 
• The Mercer family have previously bankrolled Breitbart News, giving Steve Bannon and Milo Yiannopoulos their first prominent gigs. They also backed Cambridge Analytica. 
• Since we first spoke about Parler two weeks ago, the site has grown from 3 to 10 million users. Still a drop in the bucket compared to the numbers on Twitter and Facebook

At least 3 state sponsored attacks against Covid vaccine companies.

• Microsoft says it detected three state-sponsored hacking operations (also known as APTs) that have launched cyber-attacks on at least seven prominent companies involved in COVID-19 vaccines research and treatments.
• Microsoft traced the attacks back to one threat actor in Russia and two North Korean hacking groups.
• Microsoft has called on all governments to standardise regulations on hacking penalties, particularly state based hacking, in the lead up to the Paris International Health Summit.

Justin Hendry from iTnews reports, NSW, Victoria and the ACT will pilot a data exchange that allows health officials to share contact tracing data, including from airline manifests, across state and territory borders.

In the future, the exchange – which will take the form of a software-as-a-service solution – could also link up with the Australian Immunisation Register to provide a “relevant vaccine status”.

Announced on Friday, the data sharing system was recommended by Chief Scientist Dr Alan Finkel, who said, “All it does is open up a communication pathway between the digital system in one state or territory and the digital system in another, and also – where appropriate – Commonwealth government databases just for contact tracing information.”

Airbnb lost 1.4million users over no bigotry rule

Airbnb has announced 1,4 million users were banned from the platform, after they did not agree to the following: 

I agree to treat everyone in the Airbnb community—regardless of their race, religion, national origin, ethnicity, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, or age—with respect, and without judgment or bias.

The ban applies to both hosts and potential guests, using the service.
