Last time Feargal McCrory joined us on The Rocky Road, he hadn't had a fight for three years and was desperate to find out if he'd still got it. Three fights later, it looks like he does. 'Fearless' has been winning fans on America's east coast, serving up wins in Brooklyn, Atlantic City and Philadelphia, and is back in action at the end of the month in New York. Here he discusses what it's like to be a Fighting Irishman in the Big Apple, sacrificing it all to follow his dream and the old-school characters he's knocking around with in the gyms. We discuss his aversion to social media, Irish boxing's recent winners and losers and the homecoming potential for several of our US-based fighters - himself included. There's also some great stuff on his dalliances with the Tyrone minor and Under-21 teams back in the day, when he did the unthinkable for a GAA head in the Red Hand County and opted off the panel...three times. McCrory is old stock so it pains me to use this modern lingo, but he's also 'a real one'.
