In this edition, Oksana and Pawlina pay tribute to the life and work of the famous and distinguished Ukrainian poetess and dissident, Lina Kostenko, in honour of her 90th birthday on March 19. Songs, poetry recorded by Katya Yaremyn of Victoria, and Pawlina takes a stab at reading some of Lina's poetry—with Oksana's approval! Also featuring an excerpt from an "audio theatre" performance of Kostenko's famous poem, Marusia Chuhai based on the well-known folk song Ой не ходи Грицю, and historical events during the era of Bohdan Khmelnitsky.

Ukrainian Roots Radio airs live in Nanaimo on Wednesdays from 11am-12:30pm PST on CHLY 101.7FM, broadcasting to the north and central Vancouver Island, Gulf Islands, Sunshine Coast, northwest Washington State and Greater Vancouver listening areas. Hosted by Pawlina and Oksana Poberezhnyk.
